I have trouble getting hats to fit - especially those that are "one size fits all" - & I need a chin strap so the hat doesn't blow off. I bought this hat at a local sporting goods store & although it is intended for outdoor activities, it is stylish enough that I wasn't embarrassed to wear it in cities during a recent vacation. While I was on vacation, I received compliments on my hat from 2 strangers - and a 3rd one wanted to know if I'd bought it locally. It's light weight & didn't make my head feel too hot on warm days. My only minor complaint is that the brim tends to blow up in windy conditions.

Great hat for sun. Nice that it comes in sizes, so it fits my (big) head instead of just perching on top like those one-size-fits-all hats. The brim is nice and wide and due to the foam layer doesn't flop. The grey underside of the brim does a great job of minimizing glare. The fabric is light-weight and fairly cool. As with all broad-brimmed hats, it looks a bit doofy, but not unreasonably so. I like it a lot.

This hat holds its shape even after being folded into a small backpack. It kept the sun off my head and shoulders while being outside all day at a concert. The light green color (I think mine was "spring"?) is very nice and compliments many of my earth tone clothes. I liked that the sides and back were longer than in the front and provided more sun protection for my shoulders. Originally, I was going to get a straw hat, and I'm so glad I didn't. Many of the reviews I read about the straw hats said that after one summer of use they were beat. This hat will last way longer than a few summers! Oh! Also, there is a great drawstring that allows you to tighten the part around your head and a great long string to go under your chin that also tightens to keep it in place during heavy winds.

This is a great, basic hat to keep the sun off your face. I bought it for a recent trip to Hawaii and it was extremely serviceable -not super fashionable, but very practical. The light green color goes with almost everything and the hat is lightweight and comfortable. Sizing seems to be about right. The only thing I can't find out about this hat is washing instructions.
