Other features include a mesh side water bottle pocket, and padded ergo haul loop on the top of the bag. This daypack uses JanSport's Airlift 1.1 system, which is built around Gelastic Gellycomb that contours to the body for reduced carrying stress and better comfort. My six year old daughter wanted a pink backpack for school. I wanted something that would hold up for a few years. It was 30 plus years ago when I began using JanSport backpacks in high school, college, and beyond. They were well built then, and this one is better built than ever! It is big. She carries a large lunch box, her coat and sweater and hat, as well as whatever she is bringing for show and tell. Loaded up it is pretty heavy for her so I sometimes help carry it. She and her friends love the unique padded straps which are very comfortable! The front part has pocket inside for small items. The top has a small zipper near the handle with a pouch inside where she stores at least two pairs of gloves- (you never know when you'll lose one) This backpack is a winner!

Lots of pockets. Comfy straps. Great size. Perfect for school or weekend trips. It's Jansport, so you know it's durable (and has a lifetime warranty anyway). I got the Bokchoy Green and it's lovely. I found it on Amazon during a sale for $25.67 with free shipping. Yay!

I got this as a Birthday present for my lil sister. She totally loves it and it is very similiar to the one I used in college. My Sister uses hers in college now. So if your in College do not forget your JanSport Backpack, it is a must have.

Had this JanSport bag for over a month now and haven't had a single problem with it. As other's have stated the straps are very comfortable and do help with weight relief. I got the surplus green bag for $26.00 with free shipping. Great deal for a great bag.

Jansport always delivers on the quality of their bags. The Air Vital is no exception. It holds my laptop and two large textbooks with ease. The only problem I've come across is that there aren't many small pockets for holding pens and pencils. I've been putting my pens in the iPod pocket at the top, but do I store my iPod and my cell phone there from time to time, so it is a bit hard to stay organized in that pocket.
