| Customer Reviews: Trek 10x14 Great November 14, 2007 Dennis E. Nelson (Mpls, Mn. USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Four family members spent 4 days and nights in the Superior National Forest near Ely, Mn. Weather was in the 20's and low 30's at night. With proper heat, the tent was as warm as a cabin. Just keep the windows cracked. Rain fly withstood the couple of inches of snow we received. Deer hunting was pretty good also. We might expand tent city to include another 10x14 or a 9x12 next year. The zippers are a few inches off the ground. Nice tent Trek. Dennis from Minnesota.
Not exactly what you may expect from the description May 14, 2006 Linda Abraham (Florida) 22 out of 22 found this review helpful
Any future buyers should be aware that the picture is misleading - the door is on the 12' side, not on the 9' end as it appears. Also, although the walls are supposed to be 100% cotton canvas, the fabric looks and feels synthetic, and the directions that come with the tent state that it is "synthetic canvas" and warn several times not to leave it for long periods in the sun, as the uv radiation will deteriorate it.
There is a window on each of the sides except the door side. Be aware that the short sides are only about 4 1/2 feet high.
The floor is not a "tub" style - it does not come up the sides the way most poly tents do nowadays. Time will tell if rain splash will be a problem, causing mildew, etc. (I only set it up a few days ago.) The zippers on the door go all the way to the ground, and to get the door open, you have to start unzipping at ground level - meaning that if the tent is on the ground and there is water on the ground, the water will definitely come in, even if the zippers are as closed as you can get them.
