Product Description The Pacific Outdoors 17-SN825 Optima Snowshoes feature an anodized T6 aluminum frame that is lightweight, attractive, and strong. The rear deck panel is made of tough, durable Hypalon, and the colorful PE toe-deck panel is long-lasting. Toe-wrap bindings surround your feet to provide support and comfort while walking. For outstanding traction up and down hills, the snowshoes feature double-claw aluminum crampons. And to prevent toe-hooking and snow from flying up in your face, Pacific Outdoors designed these snowshoes with toe-rod pivots and spring-back bindings. The design features a tapered frame for better maneuverability, and a narrow tail to reduce the chance of cross-stepping. These snowshoes are built to support up to 175 pounds, and the adjustable heel strap fits nearly all boot and shoe sizes.

I BOUGHT THESE SHOES FOR MY GIRLFRIEND,WE WENT OUT TO MT.BACHELOR ON JAN.9TH.
THIS WAS THE TRIAL RUN OF THESE SHOES,SHE LOV'D THEM!! ABSOLUTELY COULDN'T
SAY SHE LIKED THEM ENOUGH.WALKING BESIDE HER I COULD SEE THAT THE SHOE HAD A GREAT AMOUT OF SPRING TO IT,SO SHEDING THE SNOW FROM THE TAIL WASN'T A
PROBLEM.SINCHING THE STRAPS ON THE BINDINGS SEEMED EFFORTLESS AND DIDN'T
SLIP ALL DAY.
Snow Shoes Awsome! January 31, 2010 Kathryn E. Watson (Maple Falls Wa) My Dad, who this pair of snow shoes was bought for, says he really likes them and was very impressed with their performance, he had a great time on MT. Baker with them.

I am brand new with using snow shoes. I found this pair easy to put on and strap in. I still haven't figured out what to do with the extra amount of strap that hangs out. The strap that I tucked in stayed in on one side but not the other. I'm still learning.
However, the walking was great, and while it will be a long time before I'm running in them like I saw a woman do in my area, I at least know that I can get around in them.
I would purchase them for other members of my family.

Good Beginners Snowshoes February 10, 2010 Robert C. Bickle (New Hope, PA United States) We bought these for our teenage daughter so that she could explore the forest around our new New England home this winter. Over the last two months, she has used them moderately and they get the job done. Recently we took them with us to Vermont on our ski vacation and it sure beat renting snowshoes from the resort. She was able to go outside and go for walks on the snowshoe trails right from our room. If your daughter likes to walk and you live where it snows a lot, these are good, entry level shoes.
Great for my needs March 29, 2010 RY (San FranciscoCA) I used these a few weeks ago. They worked great for my casual use. I didn't have any issues with the straps as some of the other reviewers did.
I don't know how long these will last but if I get 3-4 years out of them, I will be happy. (I rented some last year from REI for $35 for three days.) At least I will have gotten my monies worth and don't have to worry about timing my trip around p/u and returning the equipment.
