| The Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR, a new addition to the Sidewinder line,
features a stowable hood. On bluebird days, tuck that hood away; on
blower days put it on for added protection. Gore-Tex XCR material keeps
you dry, in combination with WaterTight zippers. The men's Sidewinder
now features a more relaxed fit than previous models, allowing for more
movement and layering. The signature Sidewinder curved front zip keeps
the zipper away from your chin, but easily accessible. Skiing off-piste
in Europe or heli skiing in Canada? Adding safety to comfort, Arc'teryx
incorporates Recco Rescue System Reflectors in the Sidewinder AR. This
feature could increase your chances of being found, should you go under
in a slide. Additional Sidewinder features include a radio pocket, two
hand pockets, laminated Velcro cuffs and a laminated powder skirt. Bottom Line: Reap the benefits of the Arc'teryx evolution of technical, detail oriented mountainwear.
Reviews : Well I got this jacket about 2 weeks ago and it's probably the best jacket I’ve ever owned. It's a bid pricey at $450 but its worth it has an avalanche distress signal built on the sleeve of the jacket. And the fold-away hood is just fantastic, but it runs a little big, I’m normally arcteryx size xl or l but this medium fits me. But this is a great jacket. Arc'teryx Sidewinder AR Jacket is a great winter ski shell. It is unbelievably windproof and waterproof yet very light. The pockets are well placed and easily accessible and the overall functionability of the jacket is high. My only gripe is the hood, which when worn is good, when folded it makes a large lump on the neck that sometimes can be a nuisince. Overall I love the jacket. Although the Arc'Teryx Sidewinder AR is pricey, it’s a great jacket. You can see it from the stitching, welling, etc. I've been wearing it in the rain for commuting and skiing. I like the Statue color but it is hard to keep clean. I already have some markings and not sure how to clean them yet. It has a lot of pockets. It even has an arm pocket for me to put my ski season pass in. Unfortunately, the lift operators have a hard time reading it because it is a smoky lens. Overall it is still a great jacket. The backcountry-oriented goodies include a transparent Opti™ radio pocket that allows you to press buttons on your two-way radio without removing the device from your jacket (adding earbuds or a headset help facilitate hands-free operation). The critically-acclaimed Recco Reflector helps avalanche rescue teams equipped with Recco detectors locate your jacket even under ten meters of snow--provided that you're still in the jacket and alive when the team arrives.
