Most Positive Review:   awesome camping lantern. nice and small for moving around in darkest nights. only draw backs is the fuel, required a lighter fuel canister and only last about 3hours. overall though, it's a must have for anyone who loves camping.

Most Negative Review:   Not perfect, but for the weight and the price sheds an acceptable amount of light. Still needs work as far as light coverage. You need to keep it above or below eye level or the light leaves sun spots.

2.I think it will be a good change from the candle lantern

Used this in a 8 man tent during a survival training weekend in February. Temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees. The unit was left on all night long for two days at the low level. It provided enough light so people could see without using headlamps when moving around in the tent, and the intensity did not diminish. Maybe the 150 hour battery life claim is true! It certainly weighs less than the traditional candle lantern with it's consumption of one candle per night (4 per trip) and takes up less space. Although you could not read by it in the large tent, it should be more than adequate in a typical two man backpacking tent. Durability from droppage or other mis-handling is unknown at this time.

3.It is the lightest and brightest lantern I have seen.

This lantern is very bright and really light weight. It is about the size of the candle lantern I have, and it is much better to use in a tent.

4.Small, seems durable. Not very bright.

This review is for the LED version of the lap. It has a nice, compact, light-weight design. Most parts are plastic except the little legs that rotate out which are metal. No glass, so you can just throw it in your pack without much concern. I'm disapointed with the light output. With only 4 LEDs, it produces a brighter band around the base of the lamp, but provides only a small amount of light outside that band. It dosn't really compare to butane lanterns that really fill an area with light. It provides just enought light to make things out in the dark.
