I owned the Far Flung 2004 edition and travelled Europe with it for about 6 months. After it was destroyed by an airline in a tragic, "I'm sorry Mr. Frahm, I have no idea how that could have happened to your bag" incident. From the appearance of my bag I could only deduct that the airlines flew across the ocean with my bag strapped to the engine..after they stuck it in a meat grinder. That's neither here nor there. I was actually saddened to buy an updated version of the 2004 bag. The 2005 pack has additional side pockets and a superior designed interior than it's previous version. The design of the 2005 daypack creates more room and adds an addtional pockets on the top and sides. I am actually glad the airline destroyed my old pack because it allowed me to pick up this one, which I love.

wow, this bag is amazing! the detailed stitching and intricate engineering and hardware that have gone into the fully adjustable support sytem is so cool I don't even care if I ever use the bag! The double hip strap with spanner thingy is so comfortable, the full zipper on the huge main compartment, mesh "laundry" pocket and internal load tie-down straps and removeble smaller pocket section that doubles as a daypack make this the most functional and versatile bag i've ever owned. And thanks to moosejaw's large selection for carying the medium size, which I couldn't find anywhere else.
